This is the last addition to this cool website!
Well, this is the last page I can add to this site, so the site is pretty much complete now. I hope you have enjoyed seeing it grow from it's infancy, into this huge mammouth thing, that I recon is bigger than any other 'Freeserver's' site that has ever been made. Please e-mail me with your comments.
Well, now onto the topic of this final page. Well, as you can tell from the title, this is all about managing football teams on a playstation, particularly the brilliant and simply the best, LMA Manager series! This page is about half complete and I am on the case of getting new pikkies!

I know there is only one decent pikkie at present, but I am on the case!
Firstly a brief history on management games. Until the launch of the original LMA Manager, footie management games on the playstation were usually poor and not even worth a fiver. They were very unrealistic, lacked in depth and were graphically the poorest games you could buy. Most of LMA's newer rivals are still, today, like that and the LMA series still remains in number one spot.

There are LMA Manager pikkies floating around and that is what inspired me writing this page.
The original LMA Manager, launched in 1999, at the time was the very best you could buy and was one of the final Playstation games that cost over 30 pounds new! The lowest mark this game got was 9/10 from the Official Playstation Magazine and was easily the most complex fottie game you could buy, full of stats and problems to solve. Even today, the original LMA is a very good game and now plays second best to it's successor, LMA 2001. Expect old 1999/2000 stats though, the only reason not to buy it! |

The latest game, LMA Manager 2001, has took top spot like it's predessessor and just like the original, little can fault this superior game! It is slightly larger and bang upto date with all the stats for this season, which is ending shortly anyway! It is a bargain at around 20 pounds and there is no reason at all why not to buy it. Unfortunaely, as it needs a lot of memory, it tends to crash if you don't save it once a month!! |
I had many exiting adventures in the original game! It may not be as hard as the latest one, but I certainly had a few scapes no manager deserves. For instance, there was two seasons in the game where nearly all my best players went off injured for about half a season, if not a season and the only players I had left were my average subs and really poor players I never really used, that I only usually loaned! I also had fought a hard battle to the European cup final and then ended up loosing 1-0 to Juventus after deep in extra time! I was not the happiest of people. There was also the time when I had a season where I ended up loosing to poorer sides, such as 2-0 to Bristol Rovers, 3-1 to Watford and 3-0 to Huddersfield Town, nasty! |
This will eventually be about my ecipades in the second game, which I have barely started! |

Now, with the first game, you will hear a cheer if you have entered it in correctly. In the second game there is nothing, so you have to look at the screen to see if it has been activated! |
Here are just a few tips to help you by! There aren't too many as yet, I haven't had a lot of time, so just make do!
1) Never play defensively. You will rarely come out on top by doing this and just prevent the opposition from scoring for a further five minutes! Only advisable if you are using your worst players and against a really tough team in your first season, example, you are away to Liverpool!
2)Never let your staff take contol of player contracts! No matter how great they appear to be rated, they will almost always balls them up, especially in the first game!
3)Don't loose faith! You will almost always start bad! Even if you start again with more experience, you will almost always begin badly! Just remember, there is a lot of games in a season, just panic if you are in the relegation zone with three games to play that are all away or something! |
